My life as an artist began by touring with the freak-folk orchestra, Human Behavior. I wrote songs, released records, made music videos, and toured my butt off.
In the tour van, I started writing cartoons, and recording the scratch audio in the parking lots of grocery stores. Several of those crazy ideas from the van ended up being produced, like Nickelodeon’s Tennis The Good Boy.
In between tours, I started performing comedy in my hometown - Tucson, AZ. The sets were sometimes musical, sometimes not, and sometimes always weird. Eventually, all my creative endeavors brought me to Los Angeles.
Once in LA, I aimed to improve my comedy writing by attending sketch and improv programs at UCB, Groundlings, Second City, The Pack, and The Idiot. I also continued my musical life as a composer for children’s cartoons, and even scored a horror film (Devil’s Claw).
You might be thinking something like, “Comedy and music are two lives, and you should have chosen one instead of both.” If you are thinking that, please let me know so I can start my third life as a mind reader.
